Doctor Who Goes Green

It would appear that Doctor Who has gone all environmental and painted the Tardis green. Of course if the Tardis worked as it should then a) it wouldn't always appear as a Police box and b) it could turn green without requiring a tin of paint.

More importantly this can't be the Tardis -- it's too well parked!

Police boxes were always dark blue - what have S Yorkshire done!

I'm not sure when it was painted green, but it has been in the same place and the same horrid shade of green since at least the autumn of 1997 when I arrived in Sheffield.

They're not always blue. Glasgow has a couple of examples of red ones.

Interesting, this was the first and only non-blue one I'v ever seen.

Yeah red was quite common round Glasgow, see here:

Hi Carl,

Thanks for the photos of the red ones. It's kind of nice to know that Sheffield isn't the only place confusing people by painting them a non-blue colour!

It was green when I moved to Sheffield in the 1980. I'm a big Dr Who fan and having a green one (and the wrong shape!) was almost worse than not having one at all.
