Winter Has Arrived!

Well winter definitely arrived this weekend. On Saturday morning it snowed in Penistone, and it was so cold this morning that I've had to wear a jumper to work for the first time this year!

Hopefully there won't be quite as much winter as there was last year.

Lucky you for having snow and also for having an office that presumably has central heating! Jumpers are required in the biosciences department at Exeter even in the summer!!

Yeah the heating works quite well, but it is the air-conditioning in the summer that is brilliant. We usually have it set so that you can feel a drop of at least a few degrees between the corridor and the lab.

In fact sometimes I do feel like putting a jumper on in the summer it works that well!

Gosh, snow already. We hardly get any nowadays. Whilst it's a pain for Jo to get into work I'd love to get some snow photos. I've hardly had any snow shots since the 1960s though I recall a few of Bryony and Helen in the garden at 193 in the early 1980s.

This is what we woke up to this morning......not looking to bad then, but now we are really getting some snow! Our area is under a winter storm warning with blizzard conditions, and it has started up already. I have whispered a silent prayer for all who have to be out in this weather today as we are already down to 16 with windchill factor, and looking at gusts of wind at 25 miles per hour as the day goes on. So it is a wonderful day to stay inside, and I hope all of you are able to do so also.pet for sale
